Fireplace General Service and Maintenance
Gas Fireplaces require service or at least general maintenance. However, many non-warranty problems (such as how to light your pilot light, or cleaning the glass) can be solved by consulting your owner's manual. The manufacturers' websites usually have troubleshooting sections and owner's manuals available for downloading.
General Service & Maintenance is recommended for gas burning inserts and fireplaces once every 1-2 years, depending on how often the fireplace is used.
When servicing your fireplace, our qualified service technicians will:
-
Check fan operation (if applicable)
-
Clean pilot and burners
-
Check gas pilot safety system
-
Check for proper ignition and combustion
-
Clean glass with recommended fireplace glass cleaner and inspect gasket
-
Leave a copy of the Work Order with the homeowner/tenant
PLEASE NOTE: Our Technicians are not certified to do any electrical work or wiring. Please contact your local Electrician prior to service. At this time painting is not a service we provide (firebox, parts, trim, etc). Heat resistant paint can be purchased from Fireplaces Unlimited or your local hardware store.
Most manufacturers offer a 1-year parts warranty on the operating fireplace. Fireplaces Unlimited will honour manufacturer warranties. Labour is also covered under warranty for one year on the warranted part only. Please keep ALL original paperwork as original Receipt/Work Order must be provided to ensure proper billing.
